Can I mail in a donation?

Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes, all donors receive a tax receipt. If you don’t receive one or need a new copy, contact us at events@havenhumane.org or call (530) 241-5262.
Can I donate in honor or in memory of someone?
Yes. After selecting your donation amount, the second screen of the donation form will give you the option to mark your gift as a memorial and enter the recipient’s information. All memorial donations are recognized in our printed newsletter, and you can choose to send an email notification to the recipient at that time.
If you’d prefer to have a card mailed instead, just call us at (530) 241-5262 and we’ll take care of it.
How can I fundraise for Haven Humane?
You can support Haven Humane by creating a fundraiser through Facebook Fundraiser.
Can my employer match my donation?
Many employers offer matching gift programs to double or even triple your donation. Check with your HR department to see if your company participates. Let us know if you need help submitting verification—we’re happy to assist.
Will I receive updates about how my donation is used?
Yes! Donors receive our printed newsletter and 2x a month emails, which includes updates on animals helped by your generosity. You can also follow us on social media for regular success stories and behind-the-scenes glimpses.
Can I see Haven Humane Society’s financial information?
As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Haven Humane Society is committed to financial transparency. We make our IRS Form 990 filings and IRS determination letter available upon request. Can I donate by phone?
We encourage you to donate online or to send a check. If you need assistance by phone to make a donation, call us at (530) 241-5262, Monday-Friday 9am-4pm.

Are online donations secure?
Yes. We use secure, encrypted technology to protect your personal and payment information.
I made a donation online but didn’t get a receipt. Can I get one?
Yes! Check your spam folder first. If it’s not there, email us at events@havenhumane.org or call (530) 241-5262 and we’ll send a copy.
Do you offer donor recognition or naming opportunities?
We do offer recognition for major gifts and some naming opportunities, depending on current campaigns or shelter projects. If you're interested, please contact us at (530) 241-5262 or events@havenhumane.org. We also have personalized Tribute Tags you can purchase.

How do I update or cancel my monthly donation?
You can update your monthly donation by logging into your donor account via the "Sign In" or "My Account" link on this page.

Can I use Haven Humane’s name or logo for a fundraiser?
We love when supporters host fundraisers for Haven! Just email us at events@havenhumane.org—we’re all for it, but please get approval before using our name or logo in any promotions.
Can I dedicate my donation to a specific program (spay/neuter, medical care, etc.)?
Yes! You can direct your donation to an existing fund or program. Email events@havenhumane.org or call (530) 241-5262. For major gifts to start a new program, contact aransom@havenhumane.org.
Do you accept gifts of stock?
Yes, we do! Haven Humane Society gratefully accepts gifts of stock, but we do not receive automatic notifications when these gifts are made. To ensure we can properly recognize your donation, please notify us after arranging the transfer.
