What is Animal Regulation & Services?

Serving Redding and Anderson, Animal Officers provide care and education while enforcing city ordinances and state animal-related laws. It is Animal Officers' job to keep the public safe and provide protection services for animals in the fight against cruelty.

Just last year our officers returned 366 pets home to their owners before those pets even entered the shelter. We take pride in helping pets reunite with their families.

Officers respond to calls about:

• Stray animals • Cruelty to animals • Injured animals • Noise complaints • Dead animals in the road

Officers do not respond to calls about:

• Stray cats (unless they are sick or injured)
• Wildlife (click below for relevant phone numbers)
