Dr. Howden was raised in the North State and graduated from Fall River High School in 1995. After graduation, she attained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Once graduated, she became a Registered Veterinary Technician and worked at a local veterinary hospital for three years. In 2003 she moved to Southern California to attend Western University College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Howden moved back to the Redding area where she began work at Haven in 2007. She has enjoyed these years of amazing staff, adopters, animal rescue and a rigorous surgical load. Dr. Howden and her husband have two daughters, a son, 2 dogs, and a cat. In her spare time she enjoys being a mom, baking, jewelry design, and serving on the Board of Governors for the California Veterinary Medical Association.
LeAnna graduated from Anderson High School in 2008 and joined the team as a veterinary technician in 2012. She is now a Registered Veterinary Technician and our hospital manager. She started working in veterinary medicine at age 18 and it’s been her passion ever since. Outside of work she enjoys gardening and yard work, walking her dogs, painting, reading, and taking trips to the California coast. If she didn’t work with animals, her dream would be to own a plant nursery as she collects imported tropical houseplants. LeAnna loves to spoil the shelter pets that come through the hospital, much to the jealousy of her senior Chihuahua Lolita and her Pug/Boston terrier Haven Alumni, Myrtle.

Bridget has been with Haven Humane Society since 2013 and has worked in multiple departments of the organization ultimately landing at the hospital as a technician and then earning her Registered Veterinary Technician license. She enjoys running a small zoo out of her home between her own animals, a rotation of foster babies, and her side project of animal rehabilitation. When her nose isn't buried in a book, you can usually find her going to a local event, playing board games with friends, or finding something new and fun to do with her family.
Jenn grew up in Cottonwood and in San Diego. She graduated from El Capitan High School and went right into pursuing a career path in the medical field. She looks forward to adopting a dog of her own in the near future, but for now gets her fill of dog and cat love at work where she can usually be found in the back giving extra treats and walks to our hospital patients and shelter animals.

Jennifer was fortunate to grow up surrounded by different kinds of animals. Her love for animals turned into wanting to care for them and after high school she started working for a veterinary clinic in Redding. Over the years she had various jobs but always wanted to return to helping the animals. She is happy to now be at Haven as a technician at the vet hospital! She and her husband enjoy life with their dairy cows, cats, and chickens. They have adopted a few cats from the shelter and share how much happiness the cats bring them and that they truly touched their hearts. Jen enjoys being outdoors and traveling. She loves the ocean, scuba diving, and spending time with family.
Cassie graduated from University Preparatory School in 2015, with plans to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the start. She has plans to obtain a license as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the near future. In her spare time, she remains forever entertained by her 3 cats: Ollie, Milo, and Sadie, and has since taken an oath not to add a another.
I'm Sir Julius. I came to the clinic in 2017 as a very scared, withdrawn cat in a trap and the clinic staff made me family. I am now a very important member of the staff, helping everyone with their daily tasks; some would say I am the mascot at the clinic. My hobbies include keeping seats warm, standing on paperwork, and trying to play with in-use pens. I absolutely adore meeting new people, pushing items off desks, eating treats and receiving pets, so if you see me do not be afraid to say hello!
